Help[Opinions] Harker
I've been thinking about this name on and off, ever since I fell in love with Bram Stoker's Dracula. I'm also quite fond of Wilhelmina, but I don't know if I'd actually use it.
ETA: I should probably mention it would be for a boy. My beloved Harper is very popular for girls now and, while I'm not in the US, it's really putting me off.
Any thoughts?

I like Harker (although I don't think I cared about it before reading Dracula). I also didn't like Wilhelmina until I read Dracula, although I have always liked Mina.

I really just think about definition #4 here: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hark . If I didn't, I might like it.
Wilhelmina is neat! I used to really like how she could be called Billie. Now I'd probably prefer it as a middle name.

This may sound terrible, but...
I played Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and there is an animal in the game that is rather like a walrus. It's called a horker. That is the first thing that I think of.
Otherwise, I kind of like it.
It reminds me of Christmas. "Hark! The herald angels sing..." and all that jazz.

It is really unfortunate about Harper and her popularity, she's a lovely name.

I really like Bram, but Harker is too harsh sounding for me.
Wilhelmina "Mina" is a nice name for a girl. I prefer just Mina, though.

I like Harker. I think I might prefer it as a MN, but it definitely works as a FN too. :)

Not trying to steal your topic...but how would you pronounce Bram? Like Sam or Brahm?

I say it so it rhymes with Sam. Brahm rhymes with arm for me.

That's how I would have originally pronounced it too, however there seems to be a 50/50 split on which pronunciation should be used...
I live in the US so I know that sometimes the pronunciation of a name gets altered a bit...

If you're in Aus/NZ I think Harper would be fine for a boy. Although your name makes me think maybe you're in the UK?
Wilhelmina is bad ass though.

I'm in the UK; Harper is uncommon for both genders here.
Bram is on my list, along with Arthur, Abraham, John and Quincey. I'm just loving Harker at the minute, though, especially in the combination Léo Harker Grey.
