[Opinions] Re: Beatrix or Beatrice?
in reply to a message by overtheclouds
This is a subject of great debate between me and my sister.
Beatrice is a family name because my dad had a great-aunt affectionately known as "Auntie Bea" and when my parents came to naming my sister they wanted to honor "Auntie Bea" but found that Beatrix sounded better with my sister's first name.
So I rather like Beatrice better because it sounds slightly more elegant to my ears while my sister prefer Beatrix because she thinks it sounds more spunky and youthful.
So usually I go with Beatrice but I really like both. "Bea" is a lovely nickname and I think it's a wonderful name that should be used more! :)
