Help[Opinions] Kyla
I'm having a little bit of cognitive dissonance re: Kyla. Every fiber of my being tells me that I should not like it (I certainly don't like Kayla, or Kaylee)--but then I actually find myself NOT disliking it at all. In fact, I think I have developed a sort of...self-deprecating appreciation for Kyla suddenly. It will probably pass. I know I wouldn't use it.

It's okay. I like it better than Kayla. I strongly dislike Kayla but I don't mind Kyla and Kayley.
It actually reminds me of names such as Kaia and Kira which I like. It is very insubstantial, though. I think I'd rather use Kyle on a girl than Kyla. But it is better than Kylie.

Kyla is the feminine form of Kyle -- nothing to apologize for.
Heck, I like the name Kylie (blushes). Explain that one. Oh, wait. I can. Just because some names have a similiarty to (gasp) trendy names doesn't mean they are necessarily bad. I admit to liking even one or two trendeez myself. Sure, you won't get the Snobby Elite Award, and namenerds won't throw rose petals at your feet. But there are worse things in life.

Why would you have to do anything about it? You like Kyla, so what? It's okay to like it!
I kinda like Kyla too. I haven't thought about it that much, but its a nice name. But even if I wanted, I couldn't use it since it's a word in Swedish, meaning cold. :)

Kyla is cute. I wouldn't use it because it is pretty trendy, but it's not bad at all.
I think it's better than Kayla, because the "ay" is an overly trendy sound (especially when it's spelled "ay"!!)
That said, I much prefer Kyra. I could easily be persuaded to use Kyra. Kyla, not so much.

I like Kyla. I used to know a really sweet and respectful girl with dark hair and green eyes whose name was Kyla. I have met plenty of girls named Kayla, but she is the only Kyla I recall meeting. I find Kyla more substantial sounding than Kayla and Kaylee, which sound perennially youthful.

Nothing to do about it. Either you like it or you don't, it has nothing to do with your intelligence or even your status as a name-nerd.
I don't like the sound of it myself, I also don't like Kyle or Kylie, though I do like Kayla.
