To use both of them in one family would be overkill, but I think you could get away with using one. They are quite cute. Mitzi is very cat-associated in German, I believe. But still okay. I think Fritzi is great!

Totally usable as nns. I think they're cute too.

They sound suitable for characters in 1920s or 1930s cartoon strips. Not for nothing do they both rhyme with 'ditzy'.

On the other hand, they'd do wonderfully well for domestic pets. I'm seeing two huge mastiffs with pink collars.

I think Mitzi is really adorable as a nn. Fritzi on the other hand is not very flattering IMO.

They both sound like dog or rabbit names to me. I sort of like Mitzi as a NN for something like Maritza or Matilda / Mathilde. Actually I think Bitsy is more usable, akin to Betsy

They sound passable but only as nicknames. For some reason Mitzi reminds me of a monkey, and I often read Fritzi as Fritzl (as in Josef).

Cute nicknames, but too insubstantial for full names. I just don't like nicknames as given names.

Unless they're nicknames, they're more suitable for cats, IMO. esp. Fritzi.

When I read the title, I thought "Mitzi & Fritzi" was some sort of European cartoon. :-)

Mitzi is very usable as a nn for Maria. Love it. I grew up watching old Hollywood movies and Mitzi Gaynor was a favorite.

Fritzi, on the other hand, only works for a man, as Fritz. Frederika / Fredrika / Frederica is gorgeous though and I love the nn Frieda / Freda for it.

Well, my real name is Fredrika and I'm glad no one calls me Fritzi! Yuck! It sounds like pommes frites (French fries) and also makes me think of Joseph Fritzl. Doesn't Nancy (from Nancy and Sluggo) live with an aunt Fritzi?

Mitzi sounds more like a cat or dog than a person.

Mitzi I see usable as a nickname only, but for me it's a dogs name - same as Fritzi, which I read as Fitzi originally. Totally unusable, not even in the same catagory as Muffy.
