[Opinions] Mitzi & Fritzi
I think these names are adorable. They are short for Maria and Frederika, which I'm not terribly fond of, but I still love them. Are they usable, or in the same category as Muffy and Bitsy-- too fluffy?

Totally usable as nns. I think they're cute too.
They sound suitable for characters in 1920s or 1930s cartoon strips. Not for nothing do they both rhyme with 'ditzy'.
On the other hand, they'd do wonderfully well for domestic pets. I'm seeing two huge mastiffs with pink collars.

much too fluffy...
They sound like yapping, floor-wetting, furniture-destroying little lapdogs. Yuck.

Cute nicknames, but too insubstantial for full names. I just don't like nicknames as given names.
I agree, they make great cat names. I prefer Mitzi.
When I read the title, I thought "Mitzi & Fritzi" was some sort of European cartoon. :-)
I do think they are too fluffy, though, even as nicknames.

Mitzi is very usable as a nn for Maria. Love it. I grew up watching old Hollywood movies and Mitzi Gaynor was a favorite.
Fritzi, on the other hand, only works for a man, as Fritz. Frederika / Fredrika / Frederica is gorgeous though and I love the nn Frieda / Freda for it.
