You have just warmed my heart. Freda was my great-aunt (short for Frederica) and my Aunt Freda is named after her. It's very dear to my heart. I don't talk about it a lot because it's not everyone's cup of tea, even here at BtN. I'm especially pleased with the spelling. Usually if I see it at all it's Frieda, and occasionally Frida. Those spellings are nice too and I'll take her just about any way she comes. But seeing "Freda" on your list has really brightened my morning. Thank you.

Others I love:

Amandine, Arthur (a new love for me), Charlotte, Chiara, Eloise (what a neat idea, using darling Elsie for the nn!), Leif, Louis, Stella, Giulia, Livia, and Zoe. Virginie and Evelyne are tres chic. :-)

Freda was my mother's name, (that spelling), so understandably, I love it.

She was rarely nick-named, Freda being a short name, though some of her sisters occasionally called her Fee.

My Aunt Freda was a 60s wild child which was a big no-no in my family. But I secretly admired her. I associated Freda with freedom. I've toyed with the idea of Freedom, nn Freda.

I love Freda too, you're not alone! My favourite spelling is Freida, though, even though I know it's not technically right.
