Henrietta called Etta with a cat named Harriet called Hattie isn't a real issue. If Henrietta is THE NAME and it really bothers you that the cat's name is similar then you could change the cats name. Cats don't respond to their names anyways, they just do what they want.
I personally think that Henrietta is very over the top. It's very old fashioned and while I'm a big fan of old lady names I personally find it very unattractive.
I don't consider it a stretch to use Etta as a nickname for a name ending in -Et, how does adding another T and an E doesn't make it any more intuitive. They both equally make sense.
