Lorant is okay, but to my eye it looks more like a form of Laurent than Roland, even though it's - yeah, a form of Roland...
I really like Roland. I don't have the rat association, and the only Rolands I can think of are fantasy novel characters.
I pronounce it RO-land. Anything else sounds odd in English, in my opinion.
