Like? Don't like? Boy, or girl? Any other thoughts on this name, or impressions?

I like Casey for a boy but I can't stand it for girls.

I love Casey on a boy and HATE it on a girl.
It's got a sort of psuedo-classic feel to it for me... like I have no problem picturing it on an elderly gentleman or a newborn.
I love 'ee' ending names on boys though. To me they sound fresh and youthful but also sort of "lived in." I also think they tend to sound sort of "cowboyish" which is something I guess I admire.
Casey on a girl feels way more dated to me and just sort of silly/unserious sounding

I don't mind it on a girl, but it's pretty 80's cheerleader to me. I don't like it on a boy at all. In either case, I do prefer this spelling among all the others.

My first impression of Casey (b) is "baseball". I don't know why - I'm pretty sure it's not because of "Casey at the Bat," because I've only heard it mentioned in passing and it took a google search just now for me to make that association.
All the girls I've known named Casey were really, obsessively into horses. So, on a girl, Casey makes me think of a horse.

It's sort of cute, and works well enough for boys and girls both. But for some reason it kind of has a redneck vibe to me.

For me, it's one of those "I like it, but I'd never use it on my child" names.
I prefer it on a girl, but only slightly. Spelled with a K, I've used it on one of my favorite characters that I've created; her parents chose it because it sounded like their initials: K & C.

I like it, but wouldn't use it. It's so 80s trendy and I've just met too many over the last couple of years. It isn't nearly as trendy and boring as similar names such as Lindsay and Ashley (which I both like), though.
It works on both genders. I don't really have a strong preference for a particular gender but it seems more overused on girls.

It's not a bad name but it is nms. It works better for a boy than for a girl imo, but it works for both genders.
It sounds cool but it also sounds like it is trying to be cool, which isn't a bad thing in my opinion as long as it isn't over the top about trying to be cool, and this name is not over the top imo.
Casey sounds a little immature but I feel that way about many names that end in -y or -ie or -i. It doesn't help that the only Casey I knew was an immature boy, of course I knew him in elementary school so everyone was immature especially the boys. Of course the kids who tried to not be immature were the worst since they were often the meanest and acted like they were better than everyone else. Kids should be kids and kids are immature.
Casey makes me think of the early and mid 1990's. It feels like a name that matches well with Taylor, Jordan, Jesse, Jessica, and Cameron.
I heard a great idea though. The person who is basically my mother-in-law almost named her daughter this combo, Keira Cicely. She had planned on calling her KC, which sounds like Casey. Also if someone had a surname that began with C they could give their child a first name that starts with K and then call them KC as well. I like this KC nn option because it allows the kid more options.
For example someone named Keiran Cedric would probably go by Keiran and / or KC depending on who they are and their personality. My partners younger sister loves her name which is Ceilidh but she tells me she would have also loved being Keira nn KC.

Casey could be boy or girl equally for me.
It's pretty average. I can see the appeal, but I don't like it particularly.

I am not a big fan of this name... maybe I just grew up with a few Caseys and it feels worn out to me, particularly for males. For a girl I feel it sounds harsh without the spunk of names that I generally like for harsher sounding girl names. I guess, the only female Casey I knew was really Cassandra, and I just loved that name so much. I had a hard time figuring out how she was Casey, not Cass or Cassie, but hey, it's her name. It just isn't my style.

Although I've mostly heard it on girls, I've been liking it for boys lately since hearing it used in the handsome combo Ian Casey. Also a name nerd friend of mine has been liking it as a boys name with nickname Case. It makes me think of all-American things like Casey at the Bat and Irish things like the surname O'Casey.
It's not my favorite C name but the more I think of it the more I like it. Because Casey and Kasey have been used for girls I might not be brave enough to use it as a first name so I'd probably only use it as a boys middle name.

I've never minded the name and while I prefer it for a girl, I don't mind it for a boy either. I don't get any particular impression with this name tbh.

I dislike it for a girl (I think of bubblegum popping airheads) but I kind of like it for a boy. I am reminded vaguely of Casey Kelso from That 70's Show but I haven't seen that show in years. But it does make me think a male Casey is prone to having a 70s haircut haha
