If you're thinking of the actor Ioan Gruffydd I think his name is pronounced Yowan Griffith. Hope this helps!

It's Yo-ann. It's a Welsh name, so you put the stress on the first syllable. And the Gruffydd bit is like Griffith, only you say the "dd" like the "th" in "this"
