[Opinions] Aurenne?
Does anyone know how to pronounce this? And has anyone come across it before? it's supposedly Latin for 'golden haired'.
What do you think of it?

I like it on first glance. I definitely like the way it looks. I'm not sure if I like the pronunciation though.
My insinct is to say it "ahr-ENN", but I'd guess it's more likely to be or-ENNE or OR-enne (like the "aur" in "aura").

Ah, your description of the French pronunciation is better than mine. That's the one I meant, though.
I agree with you: I can definitely see the name being interpreted as "golden haired".
But I'm always a bit skeptical when it comes to (most) baby name websites; so many of them give misleading or downright wrong information. That's why I asked.
Um, I'm rambling, sorry. I basically just meant to say that I agree with you on both pronunciation and interpretation.

Haha, that's okay. I try to stick by the BtN guide (http://www.behindthename.com/pronunciation.php).
I'm quite skeptical about this one too though. I could see how someone could come up with this meaning for Aurenne, but I've never heard about it before now. I think if it is a name, it's a relatively new one.

Where did you find this name? Is it supposed to be French? Off the bat, I'd pronounce it the French way, so something like "o-RENN" (sorry, I'm terrible at describing pronunciations).
By the way, I can see where the "golden" part is derived from, I'm not really sold on the "hair" part, though. So I'd be really interested in its etymology. :)

Ditto on the etymology. To me it just looks like "golden" (aur-) with a French feminine ending.

I'm not sure about it either, it looks French to me as well. I'm trying to ask a French name nerd if she's heard of it, but no response yet.

INSEE (French birth database) doesn't have any Aurennes. Looks made up to me, but it could be French Canadian? Google says there's a few on facebook - first one is Portuguese.
My French friend suggested French Canadian as well. I would prefer the Portugese prn I think which might be or-enn-eh.
I pronounce it or-ENNE, but I'm not an expert.
I was once a member of an online community that had an Aurynne, but I've never seen/met an Aurenne.
