Ah, your description of the French pronunciation is better than mine. That's the one I meant, though.
I agree with you: I can definitely see the name being interpreted as "golden haired".
But I'm always a bit skeptical when it comes to (most) baby name websites; so many of them give misleading or downright wrong information. That's why I asked.

I'm quite skeptical about this one too though. I could see how someone could come up with this meaning for Aurenne, but I've never heard about it before now. I think if it is a name, it's a relatively new one.
