It's the Welsh spelling, and I think it's wonderful if you're Welsh. If you're not, then I'd steer away from it solely because, yes, the Y does look rather kre8tiv.
EDIT: Reading over the other replies, my hatred for randym kre8t--er, kre8tyv Ys has really increased. Many people seem to assume
Martyn's somehow kre8tyv, just because of the Y... but it's the
legitimate, correct male Welsh/Ukrainian form of
Martin!
But by the same token, I must admit that, currently, I wouldn't use
Martyn if my child wasn't Welsh or Ukrainian, or for that matter
Justyna if she weren't Polish. The mistaken belief that these names are kre8tyv is just too apparently widespread. :-(
This kre8tyv randym Y trend has
got to end imo, lest more legit names get lumped into "kre8tyvytee". Gah!
