I met a girl named Geoana today! She pronounced it like Joanna. Apparently, her father's name is George and her mother's name is Ana, so her parents decided to combine the names to make Geoana. WDYT? :)

If I didn't know the story behind WHY the parents did that, I'd think it was rather inconsiderate.

I've known a couple of George people who are known as Joe. And some people spell Jordan like that - Geordan - so I suppose Geoana isn't such a stretch, but it does look like a lizard. Iguana. That kind of critter. I wish they'd stuck to Joanna, which is really pretty and unambiguous.

It looks really awkward. I would want to pronounce it like jee-oh-ana, not like Joanna.

I think it is a cool name, though knowing the back story makes it a bit cheesy....like Twilight Renesme:/

It's kind of cute, but kind of tacky, too. I don't actually like the name; the spelling is way too kre8yv. And all I see are the words 'geo' and 'anal'.
