Someone I'm following on Tumblr just had her third child. We actually talked about names months ago and I gave her middle name suggestions, and she actually used one of mine. Decimus Apollo his sisters are Jade Alexandria and Ambrosia Faye
A girl would have been named Onyx Andromeda

That one is a real eye-roller, like something out of a cheesy robot movie. Ambrosia is just plain stupid; it's fruit salad, for God's sake. Jade got off easier than she'll ever know.

Decimus means "tenth", I think, so it's a bit strange and pretentious. I love Apollo, though.
The combo matches his sisters' names. I like Alexandria (Though I prefer Alexandrea), Ambrosia and Andromeda, but Onyx would've been way too matchy-matchy. Jade and Faye just don't appeal to me, I've got some bad personal connections to those names.

Decimus Apollo... while I like the sound of it, it would never be something I'd recommend for anything other than a literary character. It sounds very pretentious and as if the parents are trying to hard... especially if they have no Roman/Italian or Greek heritage and don't have a surname that would keep how ethnic, ancestral, and cultural the name sounds from appearing out of place and even more overambitious.Like I said, it is nice (I actually love Decimus), but it is just too showy.Jade Alexandria is a good name, though I am not a fan of Jade. And Ambrosia Faye... I can't say that I'd personally enjoy carrying the name of Ambrosia. Onyx Andromeda? Onyx isn't my style. I adore Andromeda, but I'm not sure how I'd react to actually seeing it used.

Decimus Apollo is so weighty.Jade Alexandria is nice.I would not want to go through life with the name Ambrosia; it is something you eat.

Wow. Baby Decimus Apollo. Impressive. Was he born on the 10th? Just curious.I'd have loved Andromeda for a girl, although I'm not keen on Onyx as the fn.Thanks!

No, he was just born last night. Decimus was just a name she and her husband could agree on.
