[Opinions] How do you pronounce Linnea?
My mother and I disagree... this was on the list for my 2nd daughter. What does the flower look like? Pansy is not a choice for us, too obvious for teasing. I won't even use Lily for that reason! Tansy is kind of cute, I don't know that flower either. And somebody mentioned Alyssa, that is my neighbor girls name and I love it, I had not thought of it being a flower! Dahlia is growing on me... more opinions?

This is my English teachers name. She pronounces it lih-NAY-ah. If you want to name your daughter a flower name then how about: Iris, Peony (pay-oh-nee), Daisy, Calla (as in calla lily), Freesia, Rose, Lavender, Jasmine. Thats all I can think of right now, but I hope this helps some. Good luck!

Dahlia is quite pretty.

Oh! I actually know a girl with this name! She was a senior when I was a freshman - very good singer. Anyway, she said it 'lin-ay-ah' I had a fascination with it for a while because she's the only person I've ever known with that name and it's the only time I've ever heard the name :)
Dahlia - No! Have you not heard of the Black Dahlia?
If you're into flower names, here are some other flower/plant names:
Ianthe / Evanthe / Evanthia
Primrose (or Briallen :) lol)
Rhoda, Rhosyn, Roisin, Rose, Roslyn, Rosamund, Rosalin, Rosabella, Rosalia...
Poppy (erm, I'm actually split on this name because of the opium connection but hey, maybe you'll like it)
Acacia
Jasmine
Bryony
Daisy
Hazel
Hyacinth
Iris
Ivy
Jessamine
Juniper
Lavender
Laurel
Myrtle
Olive
Rosemary
Saffron
Violet

It's a small purple flower. Do a google search on "linnea flower" and you'll pull up some photos of it.

Agreed.
BTW, this is in regard to Ingrid Violette and Megan Rose gaining a sister this May. Probably Greta, then a flower mn? Greta Laurel is the front-runner today!

Lynn-EE-Uh, which reminds me of a bone on our bodies, in the Tibia[ upper leg bone] called the Linea Aspara.
