So I know this girl who goes by Ellie, and I remember her once saying what her name was and I found it cool (thinking it was Eleanor, and I have never met one before)... Today I discovered its spelt Ellanor, which I guess sounds nice, but for me it kind of ruined it.

What are the general thoughts on this spelling, and have you ever had a situation where a certain spelling of a name bothered you?
