I've liked it for a while as a feminine word name, but I think I'd like it on a boy as well. I do prefer it on a girl though.
I think one of the arguments in favor of it being feminine will be that it sounds like Amber. I'm not sure if I agree though, because it definitely has a masculine sound as well. I'd say it's pretty androgynous.
