Help[Opinions] Wallis/Wallace
Was talking to my husband and he said that he really liked the name Wally and asked me what it could be short for.
He now loves Wallace/Wallis.
I'm not sure which spelling I like more.
Our favourite names are: Theodore, Wilfred, Felix, Daphne, Hilda
Does Wallis/Wallace fit with those names?
What would you use for a middle name to go with Wallace/Wallis ____ Stewart (LN Arnold)

Aw, Wallace is one of my faves! and it definitely fits with your other likes.
Wallis is all girl to me, since the only one I've ever heard of is Wallis Simpson, the duchess of Windsor.

Wallace is better because it's easier to spell.

Actually, I think Wallis is more logical phonetically, but Wallace should be well enough known that it wouldn't be confusing either. This is going a bit off topic now, but I have a student that I read with every day, and he has trouble with the 'older' names like Michael and Richard, not names like Alexis and Lynn, which he's familiar with or are similar to popular ones.
Like la-petite-rachel said, it's too closely related to Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor. For that reason, I prefer Wallis for a girl, and Wallace for a boy.

I guess I like the spelling Wallace more. Wallis is I think now generally identified with Wallis, Duchess of Windsor (her first name was actually Bessie), the divorcée for whom Edward VIII abdicated his throne in 1936. But of itself, there is nothing wrong with the spelling Wallis.
You probably already know this, but just in case: Wally can also be short for Walter.
I could see Wallace with those names. It's already an interesting mix of names, and Wally / Wallace seems to fit pretty well.

Since Wallace is somewhat unusual and has something of a 'full' sound when said, I would keep the middle name on the simple, but still strong, and traditional side, to balance it out. :)
