[Opinions] Capella
On the radio today, I heard a story about a young woman named Capella (guessing on the spelling, it was pronounced kuh-PELL-uh). It's got an interesting sound, but not sure what I think of it. What do you think of it?

Well, it's interesting. It reminds me of how my mom (Ruth) had a good friend named Doris, whose sister was named Capitola. For me, Capella immediately brings to mind the word cap. And Capitola unfortunately makes me think of the word decapitate.

Even though it's a musical thing it makes me think of some kind of bone (I guess because it rhymes with patella?). We also have a for profit university named that here in the U.S.I don't like it.

It's funny - acapella isn't what I thought of at first - it was Capella University. (They must have had a successful ad campaign or something!). As pretty much everyone else has said, I don't really like it. It sounded interesting for a hipster commenting on some social issue on the radio, but nothing usable for me.

La Capella is an (surprise!) à capella choir in my hometown (we're very fond of choirs here), so it doesn't sound name-ish enough for me.

I think it sounds ugly.
