[Opinions] Beauvoir
What do you think of Beauvoir as a first name? Boy or girl.

Doesn't it mean something like, "nice view"? That ruins it for me regardless of anything else - too much of a place name, and unfortunate as a first name because it makes it sound like the value being honored is visual appeal (of a person). Then there is an association with Simone de Beauvoir, which is sort of risque (not that I think it should be, but I think it is).
Without considering those things it just seems self-consciously French along the lines of Devereaux, Beauregard, D'Artagnan etc which gives it a "romantic character" air in English.

On a boy, it sounds like the name of a rich boy who goes to an ultra-preppy boarding school.
On a girl, it sounds like a fake name used by a prostitute. (Sounds like she'd fit right at home in the Lady Marmalade music video with Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, Pink, and Mya.)

Beauvoir sounds like a boys name, but I do not care for it. It makes me think of a pet's name like Rover.
Similar names are Beauvallet, Beaumaris, and Beaumont,
