[Opinions] Re: Ides
in reply to a message by Sid
Like the ides of March? It seems like a peculiar name to me. What was your reason for choosing that?

It had nothing to do with the ides of March. I'm from Belgium, and Ides is a Dutch name. Some form of Ida, but Ides is also used for boys. I heard of an actor called Ides, and I just love the name, the way it sounds.

Ah, ok. Does it have a "EE" sound or an "EYE" sound?Looking at it, all I can think of is Julius Caesar, but if it's a familiar name where you are than I'm sure it's fine.

It has an "EE" sound. It's a very unique name here too. I don't know anyone else with that name. Except for the actor, of course :-)

It's not really about the name, but I was wondering... Is it Ides Meire you're talking about?
