[Opinions] Nerys
One of my customers is named Nerys. it made me think of Star Trek, but as I like Star Trek, I actually like the name, especially visually.
So what do you think, and what middle names would you like?
Also, how do you pronounce Nerys? I would say NEAR-iss.

Nerys makes me think of a very proper, very Christian, very Celtic/Welsh domineering mother... and I have no idea where I picked up that association. I think my mother worked/works with at least one Nerys.
I don't like the name much, but I can take or leave the mental image of a tough Welsh mum.
I say Nerys to rhyme with Harris... or...erh... Herris? Emphasis on either syllable, probably the first, I'm not sure, but short vowels. Definitely not nair-ees.
Combos:
Nerys Anwen
Nerys Bethan
Nerys Branwen
Nerys Bronwen
Nerys Ceridwen
Nerys Eirwen
Nerys Elain
Nerys Eleri
Nerys Eluned
Nerys Enid
Nerys Ffion
Nerys Gwendolen
Nerys Mairwen
Nerys Meredith
Nerys Morwenna
Nerys Winifred
Nerys Alberta
Nerys Antonia
Nerys Beatrix
Nerys Caroline
Nerys Clara

It's okay. I'd like to see it with something more common and feminine without being flowery like Nerys Matilda.
I pronounce it NEHR-iss. No clue what the actual pronunciation is.

My only exposure to the name Nerys was via Doctor Who, when Catherine Tate's Donna was the companion. She had a "friend" (really, a rival) named Nerys (NEHR-is). She was almost always saying the name in exasperation or annoyance or hatred, cause she didn't really like Nerys, and so while I think it's a pretty name it has that association to me so I don't much like it lol
I must say I think near-is is a strange pronunciation and an uncommon one that if a parent went with, they'd be constantly correcting people.
