[Opinions] Re: Ilan, Wolfram & Orson
Ah, Wolfram, my love! So wonderful to see you here.Wolfram has become a favorite of mine lately, so of course I have nothing but praise for the name. Very handsome and dignified, with the cool nickname Wolf or the adorable pet-name Wolfie. ♥Ilan is a name that I've never given much thought to, but I probably should since it's the kind of name I usually like. I like the sound, meaning, and look of it (prefer Ilan to Elan). My only concern is that some might think it's Alan at first glance, but that's not so bad.Orson isn't a name I cared very much for before (I could respect it on Wells, but I didn't see the appeal for anyone else. And anyway, there's Orion, similar but so much better, imho), but it's been coming up lately and it really has been growing on me. I still wouldn't use it, but I think it's a nice choice for somebody else's kid.Salem on a boy is a name that I love, but you'll get lots of people telling you that it's either too feminine (I don't think it is, but meh) or that it's too evocative of the Salem witch trials. Or that it's the name of Sabrina the Teenage Witch's cat. I do think it's usable, but it seems to come with so much baggage that I'd be hesitant with it, myself. A shame, really, as it's a wonderful name.
