In my area it would probably be associated with someone lower class, but I personally don't think it sounds bad. There are quite a few 'lower class' or 'trashy' names that I like. I'm not sure if it would put me off using them or not.

That's interesting, I never would have thought of Wesley as lower class or trashy. Whereabouts in England are you if you don't mind my asking?
