[Opinions] Lammily
So, we had a brief discussion about the Lammily doll in the Lounge, and I wondered what the good people on Ops think of the name Lammily. In case you don't know what I'm talking about, the Lammily doll is this:

...and I still can't get over how drab her clothes are, but that's neither her nor there. Anyway, thoughts on the NAME Lammily, not the doll? Personally, I think it sucks. It sounds awkward and weird, IMHO.

I think it's awful. Lamm is the Swedish word for lamb (except in the dialects of Gotland, where it simply means sheep), so to me Lammily sounds like doing something in the fashion of a lamb.
I agree, it's not good. It's like llama-lee or slammily or clammily or a spoonerism created when speaking of the Lamm family ... the whole fam Lammily... more than it is like Emily.
Lammika was my idea for what else he could have used (not sure if anyone mentioned it in the other thread) but even that is kinda bad. The name Lamm, especially with its double M, just doesn't have a quality that feels right in a female first name.

It doesn't sound nice.
You know what, I don't think the name is that bad. At first I thought it was dumb, but the more I say it the less reasons I have for disliking it. Lamm is kind of cute. Lammily isn't that far off of Romilly or Emily. I don't know. It's not like I would use it, but it's not terrible either.
Well...it can't be any worse than 'Barbie\Barbara' *Tight smiles*
I support the doll and strongly feel that the doll itself is an emphatically great idea but let's face it, they could have done better with the name. Though the diminutive of 'Milly' isnt terrible. Perhaps people would refer to the doll as 'Milly doll' I actually like it (:

It makes me sad because it reminds me of Romilly whenever I hear it. I don't want it to cause even the slightest blemish to form on Romilly.
It's ugly, same as her clothes. It also sounds like an adverb, like angrily or nastily or hurriedly.
The guy who invented her is named Nikolay (sp?) Lamm, and he supposedly invented her because when he was in school he was self-conscious about his looks. (Then why not make a drab-dressed, blah boy doll?) So Lammily is after his own name, but he could just as easily have used the name Nicole or Nikki to commemorate himself.

The first things I thought of when I saw it were "lmao" "lame" and "family". I agree that it's awkward and weird.
Is it actually used as a first name? I thought it was just a brand...
