[Opinions] BA!!!
A college friend had a baby this morning! I am so excited for her, and for the name she chose...Gloria Cadence!
What do you think?______________________________________________

When I read your post, I thougt 'meh. I don't really like Gloria'. I then read all the responses, and have therefore read the name a few times and feel like 'yuck I hate the name Gloria! the gl- I find really ugly and the rest of it sounds snobbish.I do like Cadence though; also, the names feel really mismatched. Not always necessarily a bad thing, but I don't think it works here.

I'm not wild about Cadence but Gloria is refreshing, and nice I suppose.

I love Gloria, don't care for Cadence, but nice flow either way.

I'm trying hard to separate Gloria from its (to me) datedness and "Archie Bunker's daughter" image. There was Swanson, of course. She should have given it a glamorous image, don't you think?OK, I've decided that when I can do that, I like it. It does have some glamour. I wonder if this means Gloria will make a comeback. It's always interesting to watch which names come back and which don't.Even if I hadn't decided that Gloria has some glamour, it would still be a nice change from, and a vast improvement over, so many of the names being slapped on poor innocent baby girls these days.I love Cadence.

When it comes to pop culture, I mainly associate it with: Gloria Gaynor, Gloria Estefan, and the character Gloria from Happy Feet...I'd be surprised if it got really popular any time soon, but I don't see it as being dated either.

Congrats to your friend!
I don't mind Gloria at all. It's quite pretty. Cadence is not my style at all. I could tolerate it better if it wasn't with Gloria. Together they are a bit overly happy.

It's good to see Gloria being used again. It's a gem, imo. My MIL's name is Gloria Jean yet she's never gone by Gloria. A real shame, that. Re: Cadence, it's NMS but it's spelled properly here which gives it an air respectability (if not class). Together, Gloria Cadence is very pretty and will stand apart from the crowd.

Whenever I see Gloria, my mind continues it "in excelsis Deo", but that might just mean I was brainwashed as a child...and it also makes me think of morning glories. I love Cadence, and Gloria sounds pretty with it.
