WDYT of the name Elmira? It is pronounced el-mee-ra. WDYT of the forms Almira (al-mee-ra), Almire (al-meer) and Elmire (el-meer)?

I love the name, but I pronounce it El-MY-rah, like the city in New York by the Finger Lakes.

WAY too old. Oddly enough,I think of Dizzy Devil from Tiny Toon Adventures.

I don't like Elmira--it's too associated with the Mistress of the Dark for me. Almira I like with the pronunciation al-MY-rah. I think it's lovely, as well as Alma.
Elmire looks like it sould be pronunced "EL-mire" to me. I can't really make myself use the "meer" sound with these names--it sounds weird to me.
