[Facts] Irish ???
My gr grandmothers middle name was Brittellia. I cannot find a meaning or origin anywhere. She was born in Limerick, Ireland in the 1830's. Any help very much appreciated.

Bridie is/was a typically Irish nickname for Bridget. Possibly her name could be a merger of that plus Ellie, with an a on the end for the sound and to make it visibly feminine? Or there's a possible Scandinavian/German link to Britta, which is a contracted form of Birgitta - not sure what the Northern European population of Limerick was, but it's quite possible that her parents were using the name of someone they knew as part of their daughter's mn. Are there any relatives of her age or older who've got an Ell- name? That might be a clue.
At first glance it definitely doesn't look or sound like an Irish name.
Found out that "Brittelli" is a surname but couldn't get much information other than that. Maybe its a combined name? Or partially made up originating from Brittany or something similar?
Sorry I couldn't be more useful!
