[Opinions] Zadok
I am really rethinking the names of many "supporting characters" in the Old Testament as I progress through my biblical theology classes. Zadok is the most recent one. His story is fascinating (he was the faithful high priest appointed by King Solomon). I've actually encountered two young boys named Zadok, both from Christian families (one had sisters named Shiloh and Cana). Now that the biblical story is refreshed in my mind, I'm starting to see the name's appeal. Of course, any name that starts with Z automatically gets cool points. What's your impression of it?

Kind of reminds me of Radek. Cool, but not the biggest fan.

It looks like a super hero name. Not a name I'd saddle a kid with, anyway.

Hi !!!I've never heard this name before TT
I know nobody with this name (both in real life and ficional thinks like books, film, tv shows..).So...it is a surprise!
Unfortunately I have to share some of the comments...
It seems something linked with Aliens, games and sci-fiction.But it is only because I don't know the biblical character!
Every name can sound strange if you never heard it.I like King Salomon figure so Zadok could be a very interesting character.I live in Italy so Zadok is the kind of name that never could be given for a boy. It has got a too guttural sound.Where you live can be usable, I hope. XDByeeeeeeeeeee

I kinda like Zadok but when you say it, i sort of sounds like it's gonna be Zayden which is a shame.

Do you know the Handel anthem, Zadok the Priest? If it's your style of music, I'm sure you'll love it. Now I'll be hearing it in my head all day! It'll be a good day.I'd expect the parents of a young Zadok to be either megahippy or uncomfortably fundamentalist. But I'd quite likely be wrong.

Yes, I found it when I googled the name! I can't believe I'd never heard it before!Interestingly, the family I met was kind of both. They were natural food health nuts, home-schoolers and church-goers, although not "mega" or "uncomfortably" anything.

Doesn't sound or seem like a name to me. More like a knew-aged word or game, product or toy. Can't really explain it

Sounds like the leader of the bad guy aliens in a B-movie.

How is it pronounced? If I had to guess myself, I'd say "ZAY-dok". Am I close??It's a cool name. Very hipster biblical. I like it.

I'd need to see the Hebrew, but my guess is "Zah-dohk."
