I am really rethinking the names of many "supporting characters" in the Old Testament as I progress through my biblical theology classes. Zadok is the most recent one. His story is fascinating (he was the faithful high priest appointed by King Solomon).
I've actually encountered two young boys named Zadok, both from Christian families (one had sisters named Shiloh and Cana). Now that the biblical story is refreshed in my mind, I'm starting to see the name's appeal. Of course, any name that starts with Z automatically gets cool points. What's your impression of it?
