[Opinions] Balthasar
It's been on my mind lately... Do you think it's usable at all? What spelling do you prefer? Balthasar, Balthazar, Baltasar? Can you think of any good nicknames? I haven't been able to come up with one that works.

I normally like big old biblical names. I deem this one unusable because I think it sounds mega-evil. Like super over-the-top bad guy vibes.
I get cartoon images of devils and such. I also can't think of any nicknames. Because of both of those, I personally don't think that it's very usable.
I love Balthazar (preferred spelling) I think it's really cool. Husband doesn't like it :( plus it probably is a bit 'too much' for us..
I liked Bal and Bally as a nickname. My cousins son is Balun (Indigenous name) and he gets Bal a lot which is cute.

Too pretentious and not even a little but usable in a case if you don't want anyone thinking that you're insane. "You named your kid what????"
Spelling wise anyway: Balthazar.

I like it. Balthazar is the most natural spelling to me. I think it's a bit over the top, but I wouldn't call it unusable. There's Balthazar Getty at least, many people would be familiar with the name because of him. If not, you know, because of the Magi. ;)
Balt is the only nickname for it I know of. I kinda like it. It does need a nickname, I think.

It definitely needs a nickname, and I find it endlessly frustrating that I can't come up with one I like.
IMO it's too over the top. I can better see it on a pet. Balthazar is my favourite spelling. I can't come up with any good nicknames, I think this would be one of those names where it's better to base the nickname on something else (like the initials, surname or something not related to the name at all).
Hi !!!!
This name is quite old-fashionable for me.
There is also an Italian variant "Baldassarre" but I think it is awful but maybe more similar to the original one.
Can I suggest you Baltasar?
It is Spanish and sounds fresher than others.
But if you love the archaic sound I suggest Balthazar with "Z".
This is the "classic" one but I think Baltasar is better than it...more youthful.
For a nickname I knew a Spanish boy named Baltasar with a nickname "Barta" using the last letter "r" instead of "l".
I think it is very pretty because I don't know other usable nicknames for it.
