It would be possible (though too twee for my taste) if not for the famous ship.
But the ship makes it almost ugly.

I hadn't thought about the ship.
I wonder if the ship was named for the kind of mayflower I have in mind (trailing arbutus), or just a flower that blooms in May?
(mildly interesting fact)-the mayflower is also the state flower of Mass.(U.S.)
Not surprising as the climate there is much the same as Nova Scotia.
