Help[Opinions] Keziah
I'm kind of getting into Keziah (plus I really like the name Kizzie). Is it too Biblical sounding for a non-religious person? Do you think people that are unfamiliar with the name are going to assume it's a boy?

Love the name Keziah! I recently met my first Keziah and was so happy to hear it on an actual person! I would assume you were religious if you used that name. The Keziah I know has younger brothers named Judah, Eleazar and Nehemiah. I adore the sibling set and told the parents I loved it! They are obviously a Christian family, as is my family.

I thought it was a boy's name before my namenerd-dom began. Keziah isn't to my taste. It feels very Biblical male to me, and I haven't been able to embrace it. Kizzie sounds like a dog name to me honestly (next door neighbor had Gizmo "Gizzie" and I think that's why).
That said, it has a snap to it and paired properly in a combo could be awesome.

It's such a rare name I'm not sure most people would even recognize it as from the bible. Unless a name is well known, if it ends in a, people will assume it's feminine.
I don't think it's too biblical sounding. As i said, it's rare, it's not obvious like Moses. It doesn't have a religious meaning, it's simply "cinnamon" in Hebrew. And anyway, biblical names like Michael and Judith are used all the time by non religious people, so why not Keziah?
I think it's a lovely name. It's got spunk, and it combines well with a lot of names.

I've only heard it once, and it was used for a girl (and with NN Kizzie)...she'd be about 9 now...
I didn't know it was biblical at the time, and I actually used to read the Bible a lot. Job's daughters are obscure characters.
I think it sounds cute and fairly modern. I guess it's possible that it doesn't stand out to me because I'm so used to biblical names to begin with, though.

Yes, I think it could be strange for a non-religious person.
Not because it is Biblical (infact I think it is pretty for its meaning of cinnamon) but because of its sound...
It is unfamiliar (as you say) because of its sound...
When I read it I confused it with Kenza (a feminine Arabic name which means treasure) so I could not use it because it is too similar with this name.
By the way I think that yes, Keziah it is very exotic, but...if you like it don't worry! XD

No it is not too biblical. The first time I came across the name (aged 10) I was unaware that it was even in the bible. And no, it would be mistaken for a boys name. Most names ending in a or ah tend to be feminine these days.
