I get all my
BAs from Helsingin Sanomat, which is the most popular newspaper in Finland. I usually pick the names from the
Sunday issues, when HS publishes more family announcements (birth, engagement, wedding and obituaries).
If I remember correctly,
Casper Karl Maximilian's family had a Swedish last name. Finnish Swedes (= people who live in Finland and have Swedish as their mother tongue) usually prefer that type of names.
Lyyli is a Finnish diminutive of
Lyydia and
Lydia. It's considered as a grandma name, though its popularity has risen in recent years. In fact, many other vintage Finnish names are popular again, such as
Vieno,
Hilja,
Niilo and
Aatos.
