[Opinions] Axelle
Looking for opinions on Axelle. How would you pronounce it on sight?
Do you like/dislike it?Do you think it would compliment Clarisse and Nadine (hypothetically!)?
Any other thoughts?______________________________________________
Mama to Clarisse and Nadine.

There is a Swedish actress called Axelle Axell. Yes, really!
Axel is a pretty common Swedish name, but I've yet to meet an Axelle. It sounds a bit strange to me, like trying too hard to make a masculine name feminine. But it's an OK name and I think it matches Clarisse and Nadine.

I can't say I am a fan. It sounds very harsh for a little girl.

Not really a fan.I think it would go well with Clarisse and Nadine.

Hi !!!I've never heard the feminine of Axel...It is nice!! Particular and I like this spelling !I pronounce it ahk-SELL like if it was a French name such Michelle or Noelle.Clarisse, Nadine and Axelle?
Wonderful !!
All three have something particular and 'old fashionable'at the same time.
They are not boring or too girly but they shines together. Yes! They shines and they are frilly-fresh!Axelle is perfect with them.Byeeeeeeee

I can't say I'm a fan. I would say it ack-SELL based on spelling and the patterns of other names (Gabriel vs Gabrielle, Michael vs Michelle, etc). I just don't like the sound. It sounds a little spiky next to Clarisse and Nadine, which have a softer feel (though Nadine isn't super soft, IMO). I'd expect Axelle to be the violent sister. Maybe it's just because I can't hear the name Axel (or Axelle, apparently) without thinking of someone wielding an ax.

It's okay. I pronounce it ak SEL.
It seems a lot more modern than Clarisse and Nadine - it's not really bad with them, but it's not similar. And the other two have cute nns, which would not be so easy with Axelle.

I would pronounce it like Axel. I don't like Axel for a guy and I really don't like it for a gal even if you pronounced the -elle as Elle.I don't feel that it matches well with Clarisse or Nadine.

I like Axelle - I have a thing for Xs in names though. Once I figured out the pronunciation, it was a bit awkward for me to say. For me, it doesn't have the easy sound of Axel, but I still like it. It's fine with Clarisse and Nadine.

I think it's dreadful. Sorry. Also, I think people would hear 'Excel' when the name was spoken which wouldn't be a good thing. Clarisse and Nadine are lovely!

It's nice, but the "Ax" begininning bothers me a bit in an anglophone context.

I would pronounce it ahk-SEL. It seems to be gaining some popularity with french-Canadians, it's okay, but it's not my favourite. I think it fits with Clarisse and Nadine.

My mouth wants to say Axle but my eyes want to say Ax-ELLE. How would you pronounce it? I'm not crazy about the name with either pronunciation, to be honest.
