Help[Opinions] Kansas
Starting from middle school (grade 7) I went school with a girl named, Kansas. Her actual name. At first I thought it was very bizarre but come years later it has grown on me a bit, especially as a girl's name. Of course nothing I would actually use. But what are your thoughts on it being used as a name? Just wondering

Pieta (P-ay-da) a neighbor of mine. The others are classmates
Chamberlain
Kali, Delaney & Kealey: all boys
Sequoia (her middle name but she went by this most of the time)

Kansas - I've never been to the USA, so Kansas simply makes me think of the band, prairie and Swedish immigrants. There are nicer geographical names.
Pieta - I think there's a singer with this name. It's a bit strange.
Chamberlain - the fool who said "peace in our time".
Kali - um, no thanks. Even worse for a boy.
Delaney - ick.
Kealey - no thanks.
Sequoia - strange unless you are in a way related to the Native American man.

Kansas is kind of romantic sounding, I can see the appeal.
Pieta is gorgeous! I'd never thought it would be used as a name... unless it has nothing to do with what I'm thinking of? I'm thinking like Michelangelo's Pietà, among others. Perhaps it's not in reference to that at all, which would explain the funny pronunciation.
I like Delaney, I'm kind of surprised it's not used on boys more often.

To me Kansas neither sounds nor looks aesthetically pleasing as a girls' name. Hard pass.
