Katie to me sounds like the name of a sweet little girl selling lemonade on the street in front of her house. I find it a very cute little name especially as a nickname for Katherine :)

I also completely understand the idea of being scared of a name, there is a name that will actually give me anxiety if I see it and since it is often on food products its actually quite horrible to be scared of it and I get that you want to like it. I don't really know how though...

Maybe you could imagine it with another spelling, eg Kaytee or Kaity I don't know but hopefully that helps!
