I don't like Alicia, and I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe just the impression I got of it from the few I went to school with.
I've never heard it pronounced ah-LISH-a. All of the ones I've known were a-LEE-sha, and one a-LEE-see-a.
I guess I prefer Alyssa because it feels lighter and softer and nicer. But I don't like the -issa sound at all.
