Too prissy and spoiled-sounding.

I gotta be honest, I'd never even heard of primroses until I came to BtN. It's still the only place I ever hear of this flower.Anyway, not my favorite name but I can understand the appeal. I like Rose, and I like that Primrose reminds me of names I like such as Priscilla, Patience, and Peregrine (though when I put all those names together, they do sound kind of wussy, lol). I guess I can see how some people could take the "prim" as stuck up but that's not how I think of it. I think of like, a neatly trimmed rose garden.

Girls' Pr- names in general strike me as a bit snobbish (words like prim, proper, prudish, prissy, precious, and princess come to mind). But, I've always been fond of Prudence, and Primrose has grown on me recently. I think because they've both got pop culture references going for them...
I like the song "Dear Prudence" (favorite version so far is by Siouxsie and the Banshees), and my impression of Primrose became more positive (or at least it seemed more familiar) after I saw Hunger Games...Rosey is too cutesy for my liking (I used to have a pony named Rosie, so it mainly sounds like a pet's name to me) but it could work.

Primrose is so silly. Rosey is a little childlike, but okay, though I'd prefer the spelling Rosie. But I'd prefer to see it as a nickname for Rose, it would give her something more dignified to fall back on, not the horribly silly Primrose.

Rosie itself is sickly sweet. Primrose is sickly-sweet enough to send somebody into a diabetic coma. Just, yuck.

The "prim" in Primrose always bothers me. Oddly, neither the "prude" in Prudence nor the "prune" in Prunella do. Go figure. I prefer Briallen to Primrose. The nn Rosey is darling though. :0)
