It has a lot of the sounds people like in names like Olivia, Ava, and Chloe, with the added connotations of being a nature-related name. It does sound "soft" rather than strong, but that could be said of any name with lots of vowels and soft consonants like f, l, v, s, etc.

I say no. It just seems too much like a cow or rabbit name.

Clover is one of the prettiest floral names IMO, and strong enough sounding to be carried by an adult, no matter what path she follows.

Didn't Katy, in 'What Katy Did' and other books, have a boring, adoring little sister called Clover? Then, if the 19th century found it acceptable, it should be fine now.

I think that Clover works as well as Daisy and Meadow. Which means I don't like it enough to use myself but I'd be happy to see it used for someone else's child. I find it to be a little more cute than I would feel comfortable using. As a person who is always mistaken for being 5 to 10 years younger than I am, naming a child of mine something this cute will not do them any favors if they take after me in looks.

The main character in the Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. is named Daisy but it works for her without making her seem like a cute little girl.
