[Opinions] Re: Ottoline
I pronounce the ending like Caroline rather than Pauline and I love it. Definitely in my top 20 It's very stately. Ottilie, which I also like is much girlier and a little bit frilly. I could see using Ottilie as a pet name for a little Ottoline.Names that feel similar to me are Augusta Lucasta and Olga (which I adore), Lavinia, Aurelia and Charlotte (which I'm not so keen on). Empress-y names. I just remembered...when I was in my early 20s, still a student and in NO WAY thinking of having a child, I dreamt I had a baby called Ottoline Maudehttp://www.behindthename.com/pnl/167578

Do you pronounce Caroline with the ending like LINE or LYNN? (Just trying to understand how to pronounce Ottoline.)

Line. Caroline and Carolyn sound completely different to me

PronunciationLady Ottoline Morrell pronounced it like Line, as in Drop me a line. Don't suppose that proves much, but she's the Ottoline most people have heard of, so perhaps it does.So it would not rhyme with Josephine or Marilyn!
