[Opinions] Re: Finnish BAs

I like Nikolas too! I was also glad to see a Nikolai: it's probably my favorite Russian name. I haven't seen many Taavettis, but I get your point: Juhani, Tapani, Olavi and other i-ending names are very common as MNs, so maybe Taavetti will be popular too in near future.I agree about Aleksandra: "ks" is so much better than "x" in the Finnish context. Same with Eleonoora (or Eleonora): as a Finnish person's FN it somehow feels too pompous, but as a MN it's OK.For me, Ruska is not only feminine but a dog's name! It's my grandparents' cocker spaniel's name, which has an influence on my opinion. If I remember correctly, Leonie and Emelie's mother is Swedish-speaking but they shared their father's Finnish surname (might have been a "-nen" name, but not Möttönen!).I do live in a bilingual city (Turku), but these announcements are from "Helsingin Sanomat". Well, there are Swedish-speaking people in Helsinki as well, maybe that explains the amount of Swedish names in these announcements?
