Oh ugh. It's so unattractive. It always makes me think of the little girl on "My Three Sons", who looked like she had Down's Syndrome but didn't. I concede you have to be pretty old to think of that, as well as of
Dodie Goodman. But those are the only two times I've seen the name used, so it's what I think of.
I believe
Dodie started out as a nickname for
Dorothy, and I think it should stay that way. At least there'd be something to fall back on if she hates
Dodie as an adult.
