[Opinions] Re: Cassiopeia
I want to say it's usable, but I still don't know how to say it. I've had some say Cass-ee-OH-pee-uh and others say it's Cass-ee-oh-PEE-uh and sometimes the 'ee' disappears altogether so it's Cass-oh-PEE-uh. I used to have it on my list, and I love the constellation and mythological connections but I haven't had a definitive answer yet, so I've ignored it for a while. Now I really have to think before saying it, so I wouldn't use it personally, but it'd be cool to hear on someone else's child. I agree as simpler middle would be better. My first thought was Cassiopeia Alice.

Thank you for that. I know what you mean - not an easy one. It feels as though many of us have the name on our lists, but you don't really come across many people who actually use or are called it. Even for a fictional character, because I write realistic, I'm not sure if I would use it. Maybe, but she would have to be mainly known as Cassie, and I can see readers getting frustrated about a long name that they can't necessarily pronounce. Alice is a lovely middle name for it, and I do think that Lucy also fits. Lucy - and Alice, too - are on my favourites list.
