Gioia 9/10 - I really like it! But I like it pronounced JOY-ah (like the english word 'joy' with an ah sound at the end) and I don't really like JO-yah. I listened to it online, I used an Italian-English dictionary and it definitely sounds like JOY-ah to me but the pronunciation on this site is JO-yah which confuses me :P I like the meaning a lot and it looks and sounds really nice! I am just worried it won't age well or sound dated because it is rising really quickly now.
Serena 8/10 - it is growing on me, but I think I still prefer
Selena. The meaning is fine, but not amazing. I think this might be a little bit dated? I know lots of girls named this from Italy but the are all 25+. Ohhh and I like that it is the English name of Sailor Moon! Is she called
Serena in Italy too? I liked her so much as a child :P
Letizia 4/10 - I didn't know this was also a word in Italian! To be honest I don't like this spelling too much. I prefer the French spelling and pronunciation of
Laetitia which I really love. I love the way it looks! But it is a bit dated in
France, is
Letizia dated in Italy too?
Allegra 6/10 - it's fine, I used to like it a lot a few years ago, not so much anymore. I think
Gioia is nicer. But it is unusual which is nice.
Gaia 8/10 - this is cute! I like it. But it is really common, isn't it? I like how it is associated with the earth.
Felicita 3/10 - it always makes me think of the song, but in the song I guess it means 'happiness' because the last syllable is stressed. It is a bit harsh but Feli is cute.
Felicia 4/10 - I think I like this a bit more.
Ilaria 3/10 - I used to like it but I know about a million girls named this my age all from Italy. It must have been common. I also know many girls named Ilenia and Ylenia and they are all so similar.
I also like
Azzurra :D My favorites are
Gioia and
Serena!
