[Opinions] Re: Mortimer

Great character name but I wouldn't use it for a real person. The 'mort' part really stands out. I think of the word 'dead'.

My son (who is now 7) is called Mortimer.
I wasn't entirely sure of it at first, but my husband was keen.
We have quite a short, boring surname, so I think it flows well.
When he was born it just suited him perfectly.
He loves the name because he is the only Mortimer, and it suits his quirky unusual personality! He says he is glad we didn't call him Thomas or Alex like most of the other boys in his class.
Some people were skeptical when we first announced the name, but now they all agree it is just right. We call him Morty for short.
I believe it is French for "dead sea".
