Okay, I guess I fell in love with
Adeline a little bit. Especially now that it is at its trendiest :( It entered the top 100 in 2016 and it made quite a big jump up the list.
I just read this blog and if you combine all spellings it is at #4 :O

I am not sure whether I would put
Adeline with
Adalynn,
Adelyn and the like. I think I would pronounce
Adeline as AD-eh-line in English and ah-deh-LEEN in French.
Do you think many parents these days pronounce
Adeline and
Adelyn etc. the same? I think this might be the case because
Adeline made a huge jump up the charts and I guess the -lynn ending would appeal to modern parents a lot more than -line and especially -leen which is still perceived as a bit dated (
Darlene,
Maureen,
Eileen etc).
Madeline is also often pronounced as -lyn. So basically I am wondering whether the -lynn pronunciation will become the most popular one and whether it is seen as a less trendy looking spelling to get Adelynn etc. Because it seems a bit odd that
Adeline suddenly made a huge jump up and Adelynn etc. went down.
There was a movie released with a main character named Adaline (pr. LINE) so maybe I am wrong and people do pronounce -LINE and the movie caused its success? But why is Adelynn going down? Do people suddenly prefer the -LINE sound?
How would you pronounce it? Do you like the name? How common can you see it getting? Any images/persons/associations/looks/character traits you associate with it?
Just tell me anything you think of when you hear
Adeline!
:)
