[Opinions] Re: Some Italian names
in reply to a message by Felie
Hello :)Natasha - it always makes me laugh that this is 'Ah satan' backwards. It kind of fits the Natasha I know :P I read that in Russia this is only used as a nickname, for Natalia. I personally prefer Natalia. I also prefer other names associated with christmas, which I love, such as Noelle. Natasha has a bit of a naughty girl/showgirl vibe to me, same as Lola. Maybe that's why I don't really like it. I love many Russian names but not this one.
Luana - I know you don't care for it ;) I have to admit that I like it. I have a soft spot for it, it makes me think of a lovely, free spirited person and of Hawaii so I think of beautiful beaches, sunrises and flowers.
Katiuscia - I think I prefer just Katia. Katiuscia is very cute but I find Katia a bit more elegant and substantial.
Marco - never cared for this. Did you know that this was also popular in Austria? It is a bit of a 70s/80s name. I know many.
Andrea - boy or girl? I was never able to warm up to this even though I know many lovely women named Andrea. It just always sounded kind of harsh and unfeminine to me. On a man however it sounds too girly to me because I knew female Andreas all my life.
Sandra - this was very common in Austria and Sandrine in France so I am bored by it. Alessandra is much nicer. Sandrine is nicer too.
Monica - this is very dated in Austria, usually spelled Monika here. I really don't care for it, but it isn't bad either. I like the similar Erika even though that is also dated here. The nickname Eri is so cute.
Daniela - this is also really 60s/70s in Austria and so I feel bored by it. I have known lots of Danielas from many countries.
Gianfranco - not a fan of this, it just doesn't appeal to me.
Antonella - this is probably one of my least favorite Italian names, sorry. It sounds like a brand or margarine to me.
Fabio - never cared for this.
Donato - same as Fabio.
Ruggero - same as Fabio.
Tato - it sounds like the name of a pet, as a nickname it's okay.
Giovanna - not bad but also not a favorite.
Priscilla - Presley is all I think of.
Nives - is it a girl? Reminds me of Nivea.
Paride - never heard of this before
Luca - it's ok, very overused.
Diletta - I know it has a nice meaning but it makes me think of Gilette, the company.
Gilda - ok, not my style.
Chiara - not a favorite but I like Clara.
Alessia - I prefer Alessandra.
Elisabetta 'Betty' - Elisabetta is cute. I dislike Betty.Sorry for the short comments on the last group of names my fingers got really tired from writing, I wrote a lot today -_-
