Maximus is one of the dumbest names I have ever heard. It is even dumber on a girl.

I'd ask what were they thinking ... but I think there are only so many possible answers to that question, and there aren't any I would not laugh at.

Most will probably disagree, but I actually like this. Gender is a meaningless social construct imo, and names shouldn’t be restricted to girls/boys. There’s nothing wrong with a girl having a traditionally masculine name or vice versa. Maximus/Maximilian/etc. are good names.

I agree with you about gender, but I still think it's hideous and pretentious. I could have lived with Max Artemis, which I still think is ugly.

Artemis would have been absolutely fine, I might even have applauded it. Maximus however sends my mind straight to the gutter.
